The VS-BF locking sleeper sets new standards in turnout technology & track construction. Integrating key components in a targeted way not only improves the stability of the points, but also provides optimum protection against pollution and the weather.
With the VS-BF hollow bearer, the points connection, the drive unit and the adjusting and testing rods can be reliably integrated into the point system. It can be ballasted in the same way as conventional point sleepers. It also gives you the option of tamping the entire connecting areas mechanically. This improves the position stability of the points. Important components of the closing sill such as sliding chair plates as well as bearing and fastening elements are matched to each other and can be included in the scope of delivery pre-assembled as required.
The VS-BF hollow bearer is individually tailored to all technical applications by us, and can therefore be integrated into any point system without any issue. We provide a suitable solution for both elastic and rigid bearings.
CDP Railsystems develops innovative systems for maximum safety and reliability in rail transportation. In addition to the enormous mechanical forces, the technology used to lock switches is also exposed to extreme weather and temperature conditions. To ensure the availability of turnouts and reduce disruptions to a minimum, our locking sleepers offer an optimum solution in modern track construction. They can be equipped with additional covers, which provides the integrated points components with maximum protection against pollution and the effects of the weather. They can be removed easily and without issue whenever maintenance and inspection work is required.
In order to ensure that the points also operate reliably during the winter, our hollow bearers have special cable ducts for connecting an enclosure heater. At the customer’s request, we can also provide the option of equipping the hollow bearer with an flexible sleeper sole. This sole is used to protect the ballast and increases the stability of the sleeper. It also contributes to improving the dynamic and acoustic characteristics of the upper structure. All of these properties characterize CDP Railsystems’ locking sleepers, making them an innovative system component for modern railroad technology and sustainable track construction.

Yes, CDP provides an encapsulated sleeper system for extreme weather conditions in the form of the PLS.SnowProtect, which enables the point heaters that are integrated therein to be operated significantly more efficiently. The mechanical systems of the points are thereby provided with optimum protection against icing and other weather effects.
Yes, the hollow bearers from CDP Railsystems are designed so that they can be integrated into existing systems without any problems. We have developed our products with the goal of guaranteeing outstanding compatibility with different point systems. egardless of the existing infrastructure, our hollow bearers provide a flexible solution that can be adapted to specific technical requirements and situations.
Our hollow bearers have a series of advantages that contribute to significantly improved maintenance. In particular, the protection of important point components from pollution and the effects of the weather significantly reduces wear and corrosion. The service life is therefore increased and maintenance frequency can therefore be reduced.
Yes, the CDP Railsystems locking sleepers are designed to be combined with various turnout locking systems such as the clamp lock of a turnout or the toe lock of a turnout.
You can find out more about how these systems work in our blog post about clamp toe lock & toe lock.
